Bibi van der Velden

Bibi Van Der Velden was founded in Amsterdam in 2006 by Bibi Van Der Velden, an American born in New York and raised in England and the Netherlands. Trained in the fine arts in Florence, Amsterdam and The Hague, Bibi draws her inspiration from her diverse background, nature, the animal world and the universe. Her creations, made from 18-carat recycled gold, diamonds, baroque pearls and unique sustainable materials such as 60,000-year-old mammoth tusks, ostrich eggs and beetle wings, begin with hand drawings and are meticulously hand-sculpted in wax. These pieces, made using traditional craftsmanship, embody a playful, personal and highly artistic spirit, offering the wearer joy and energy. She describes her jewelry as miniature sculptures.
