Bibi van der Velden

Bibi Van Der Velden was founded in Amsterdam in 2006 by Bibi Van Der Velden, an American born in New York and raised in England and the Netherlands. Trained in fine arts in Florence, Amsterdam and The Hague, Bibi draws inspiration from her diverse background, nature, the animal world and the universe. Her creations, made from recycled 18-karat gold, diamonds, baroque pearls and unique sustainable materials such as 60,000-year-old mammoth tusks, ostrich eggs and scarab wings, begin as hand drawings and are painstakingly hand-carved in wax. Made using traditional craftsmanship, these pieces embody a playful, personal and highly artistic spirit, offering the wearer joy and energy. She describes her jewellery as miniature sculptures.
